A criminal complaint says Huntington’s mother and sister found her dead in her apartment on August 30 after Huntington failed to show up to take her mother to a dentist appointment. She had been dead “for some time” when they found her.

Officers found blood in several places at the scene and a medical examiner said Huntington’s neck injury was suspicious.

Days later, police spoke to a man who said he saw Huntington at a West Seventh Street bar the night before she was found dead.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage, which allegedly showed a woman later identified as Davis and her father leaving the bar in a vehicle with Huntington and an unknown man. The complaint indicates that they were on their way to Huntington’s apartment.

When investigators released photos of Davis and the others at the bar, a police sergeant recognized Davis and his father. The sergeant alleged Davis stabbed someone at Concordia University on the afternoon of August 30, hours after Huntington was found dead, and that she and her father left school together.

A knife blade was recovered from Concordia and, according to the complaint, DNA from Concordia and Huntington’s stabbed victim was found on it.

Police arrested Davis and his father on Tuesday. Davis admitted to meeting Huntington and the stranger at the bar. The complaint says she told investigators they all went to get cigarettes, and then Huntington and the man entered Huntington’s apartment.

Soon after, she told investigators, she entered the apartment, but later left. She said the unknown man was the last person with Huntington.

Investigators accused her of stabbing Huntington and told her about the DNA evidence of the knife. The complaint states that she admitted to drinking and using methamphetamine and to fainting.

Investigators again accused her of stabbing Huntington and asked her what she was thinking.

“No, she – she seemed like a nice person,” Davis reportedly said. “She, she wanted to love – as if she had a desire for death. I definitely – I don’t know why she had it. Decidedly, she was begging.

Davis then said Huntington kept asking him for a joint, and that “lost him”, according to the complaint.

Davis’s father denied any involvement in the murder, and Davis confirmed his denial.

According to the complaint, Davis is also charged with threats of violence in Dakota County for allegedly pointing a gun at a family in a park. She is also charged with second degree assault for stabbing Concordia.
