The CHP will escort Lou from his home at the Alta Sierra Country Club, where the American Legion Honor Guard, Boy Scouts, First Responders, Veterans, friends and family will honor Lou. Weather and times permitting, there will be a flyover of WWII AT6 planes, and US Navy personnel have a special surprise for Lou. The public is invited to walk the Dog Bar Road to the ASCC clubhouse before Lou arrives at 11 a.m. Sunday, honking their horns and waving flags. B&C Hardware donated 50 flags to make sure there was a lot of red, white and blue patriotic joy…

Ted Stec says he feels welcome. NevCity’s acting police chief began his six-month contract on May 3. “The Banfi Prize is awarded to the person who scores the highest each year on the Certified Wine Educator exam while passing their first attempt, ”says Rod. “In 2009, the CWE exam was given over a dozen times in major cities in America and Japan. When I left the exam room, I was not at all optimistic that I had passed, but months later I found out that I had achieved the highest mark. Bullmastiff brewery canning line produces 600 cases per day which are sold in 30 stores and restaurants, most of them in NevCo. Many Bullastiff craft beers have hints of citrus and other fruit flavors. Scott Helmus, the inventive master brewer who has a master’s degree in food science from Cal Poly, says he brews with creativity and curiosity. “I like people to appreciate the fermented fruits of my labor…”

NevCo Probation Service Members and other law enforcement officers have received unique training which will hopefully lead to successful life changes and reduced recidivism among those incarcerated for drug trafficking. The training focused on accountability and involved all levels of adult drug courts, from judges to lawyers to law enforcement, with the ultimate goal of improving the effectiveness of drug treatment programs. . This is important, because these offenders end up being released into the community. Probation Chief Jeff Goldman said, “This type of training is vital for drug court staff, as overwhelming evidence suggests that drug courts are effective and cost effective when best practices are used …”
