Last week, Starbucks unveiled its line of holiday-inspired drinks, including old classics like Peppermint Mocha and Burnt Caramel, as well as an addition, Milk and Icing Sugar Latte. But apparently, to make way for the coffee giant’s latest innovation, the chain turned down an original. Eggnog Latte was missing from the menus Thursday after the official rollout, and fans took note.
The indulgent espresso and the creation of steamed eggnog, which have been a mainstay of menus for decades now, haven’t made the cut this year. November 3, Starbucks confirmed that the latte is “not coming back” on Twitter.
“As the normal course of business, we continually evaluate the items on our menu, using a variety of criteria to ensure that we are meeting our customer’s needs and our business priorities,” a Starbucks representative told Thrillist in a comment. communicated. “Although we no longer offer eggnog, our partners will be happy to recommend an alternative drink or a personalization. ”
Translation: The eggnog is gone, and there’s nothing you can do about it. A fact that fans are bowled over on Twitter.
While eggnog is out of the question, at least you have a full menu of seasonal drinks to choose from, including Peppermint Mocha, Burnt Caramel Latte, Praline Chestnut Latte, Mocha toasted white chocolate and Irish Cream Cold Brew – the latter of which is back earlier than ever, I might add – and the Iced Sugar Cookie AlmondMilk Latte.
