Name of the new general manager and member of the board of directors; The COO assumes an expanded role
Sunstone Winery, Santa Barbara County’s most visited winery, has announced the addition of Neil Redmond to the role of Managing Director and John Price to the Sunstone Board of Directors.
COO Dave Moser will assume the expanded role of Director of Marketing and Operations. These strategic meetings come as Sunstone embarks on a major expansion including a rooftop tasting lounge in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone.
“This is an exciting time for Sunstone as we continue to develop our lifestyle brand and expand our physical footprint,” said Djamila Cabugos, CEO of Sunstone. “With Dave’s continued leadership and the addition of John and Neil’s expertise, I couldn’t be more excited about Sunstone’s future. “
Redmond joins Sunstone from Beckmen Vineyards, where he has spent the past 12 years in a variety of roles, most recently as Sales and Tasting Room Education Manager. As Managing Director, Redmond will oversee Sunstone’s strong Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) and hospitality business, including the county’s busiest tasting room and the world-renowned Sunstone Villa.
“Neil’s passion for wine and people is contagious,” Moser said. “We are delighted that Neil is leading our front line team. His leadership will be instrumental in helping us grow the Sunstone brand and ensure that we continue to deliver a world-class customer experience. “
Price is the founder and owner of Price Management, a Santa Barbara-based commercial real estate development company, which owns the Villas at Olive Mill in Montecito and The Point Market chain of gas stations and car washes.
“John is a powerful addition to our team,” said Sunstone President Teddy Cabugos, “his strategic relationships and diverse business experience will play an invaluable role in Sunstone’s growth plans. “
Moser joined Sunstone in 2018 and has held a variety of roles including COO, Managing Director, and Director of Sales and Marketing. An expert in digital marketing by training, Moser has spent the first half of his career helping Fortune 500 companies grow their businesses online before devoting the rest of his career to his passion for wine. In his expanded role, Moser will continue to oversee Sunstone’s global operations while shifting his primary focus to marketing, growth initiatives, strategic projects and product development.
Besides Price, Sunstone’s board of directors includes Teddy and Djamila Cabugos, Moser and Sunstone founder Fred Rice.
