THE PROSECCO FESTIVAL OF A MONTH RETURN TO THE HOTEL MARCHAND

Belfast’s five-star Merchant Hotel is set to shine in September with the highly anticipated return of its annual Prosecco Festival.

The month-long festival, which has been running since 2017, is a fan favorite of the fabulous fizz and will include a range of special events and drink offerings to celebrate the nation’s love for bubbles.

Last year, despite a reduced event schedule under covid restrictions, nearly 3,500 glasses of Prosecco were purchased, and this year is expected to exceed that number following early consumer demand for paid events.

In the lavish setting of The Great Room Restaurant and Cocktail Bar, guests can enjoy Valdo Prosecco tasting flights featuring three different styles of Italian sparkling wine, or choose a cocktail with a twist from a cocktail menu from specialty carefully created by The Merchant’s award winning mixologists and using the finest Prosecco. A limited-edition Prosecco Afternoon Tea will also be available for booking mid-week (Monday through Friday), with each guest receiving a complimentary glass of Valdo Origine Prosecco.

Berts Jazz Bar and The Cloth Ear have also created their own innovative list of Prosecco cocktails for the festival and paid events will take place in the hotel’s bars and restaurants. These include a Battle of the Bubbles: Champagne vs Prosecco evening on the hotel’s Rooftop Garden, a Prosecco Masterclass in the Champagne Lounge and a unique Prosecco Supper Club at the Berts Jazz Bar.

Speaking ahead of the Festival of Prosecco, Gavin Carroll, General Manager of The Merchant Hotel, said:

“We are delighted to once again host our annual prosecco festival in September. Last year was a much smaller celebration compared to previous years, so we’ve worked hard to create an improved 2021 events schedule that will give guests something to toast next month. “
