Salmon Guru in Madrid has been recognized for the way it combines five-star service with a laid-back and relaxed atmosphere, with the Michter’s Art of Hospitality award given by the 50 best bars in the world.
The award was created to recognize the importance of hospitality in the bar experience, and is voted on by over 600 members of the World’s 50 Best Bars Academy.
Diego Cabrera, Founder of Salmon Guru, said: “Being named the winner of the Michter’s Art of Hospitality Award this year is of particular importance to Salmon Guru at such a difficult time as we have recently been through.

Cabrera, who is known as one of the most influential people in the bar business, opened Salmon Guru in 2016, and he was ranked 22sd on the list of the 50 best bars in the world last year – this year’s 50 best bars are named in London on December 7th. The Salmon Guru team aims to push the boundaries of cocktails and serve original and flavorful concoctions in eye-catching personalized glassware.
The World’s 50 Best Bars described the interior as spanning “the gamut from 1950s tropics to comic book tropes and interesting pieces about eccentric opium dens. The menu is divided by the impact of the drink, whether powerful, fruity or crazy ”.
